The Information Technology team at Rubrik influences business processes, employee experience, and technologies to scale our organization to $1B+. This team creates operational efficiency across the company by centralizing the management of Infrastructure, Technology, and Data. The IT team ensures all stages of the software development lifecycle in a secured environment and scrutinizes the deployment of proper processes along with governance. They champion Rubrik on Rubrik and are the first customers of the Engineering teams at Rubrik.

Rubrik Corp IT is constructed of 100% SaaS and 0% on-premises. The IT team caters to accelerated enhancement of business value and multiple day-to-day business processes through our varied SaaS applications like Salesforce.com, Oracle Netsuite, Workday, Snowflake, Etrade, jitterbit, Allocadia, etc. This team also delivers high-paced business outcomes with 100% system uptime backed by agile, nimble, simple, but cohesive Cloud architectures.

About the role:

The IT Change and Release Manager oversees the Change Advisory Board (CAB) process and ensures that all IT Applications, operations, and infrastructure changes are assessed, approved, and implemented with minimal disruption to business operations. The CAB Manager coordinates and facilitates CAB meetings, manages change requests, records, documents, and creates audit reports, and ensures compliance with the organization’s change management policies and procedures to mitigate and minimize risk. Broadly this role contains the following areas of responsibilities.

  • Change Management: Develop and implement effective change management processes, ensuring all changes in systems and applications are well-documented, assessed for impact, and approved. Facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to review and approve proposed changes, considering business and technical aspects. 
  • Release Management: Plan, schedule, and coordinate software releases, collaborating with development and testing teams to ensure timely and successful deployments. Define and maintain release processes, standards, and best practices to improve the reliability and efficiency of the release pipeline. Partners with internal IT track leads, and Program Managers to arrive at an effective release management schedule and planning.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with changes and releases, developing mitigation strategies to minimize potential impact on systems and users. Work proactively to prevent and resolve issues that may arise during these processes. Partner with InfoSec GRC and the Internal Audit (IA) and External Audit (EA) teams as required to create the right methodologies and advocate process automation to scale on the SOX/SOD, FedRAMP Compliance aspects.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of all changes, releases, and related processes, including release notes, deployment plans, and post-implementation reviews. Continuously improve documentation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of change and release management processes. Partners with IT Process Improvement stakeholders and leaders.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including development teams, project managers, and system administrators, to provide updates on release schedules, status, and any issues that may arise. Ensure that all relevant parties are informed of upcoming changes and releases. 

What you'll Do

  • Review Change Requests for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Approve, reject, or modify changes based on impact on IT services and business operations.
  • Prioritize changes by urgency and impact to minimize disruption.
  • Coordinate with IT teams, business units, and vendors for smooth implementation.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Schedule changes during maintenance windows to minimize business disruption.
  • Monitor change implementation and generate reports for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to evaluate success and identify lessons learned.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of change-related activities for compliance.
  • Develop and oversee risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders for input, updates, and expectations management.
  • Promote collaboration among cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of the change management process.
  • Ability to do moderate automation for reporting and summaries to the leadership team
  • Analyze change management metrics and KPIs.
  • Provide training and guidance on change management best practices.
  • Support project managers and IT teams in managing change requests.
  • Schedule and facilitate CAB meetings, prepare agendas and distribute minutes.

 

Experience you'll need

Minimum of 8+ years of work experience in IT Service Management, with at least 3+ years in change management or release management roles

  •  Proven experience in coordinating and facilitating Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings
  •  Certifications:  ITIL Foundation certification (Must) or equivalent is highly preferred
  •  PMP (Project Management Professional) or Agile/Scrum certifications will be an added advantage
  • Strong understanding of ITIL principles and IT service management best practices.
  • Working experience with Jira Service Desk, Jira Boards, Jira Confluence, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • Knowledge of version control: Git/GitHub, Bitbucket.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools: CircleCI, Jenkins, and Copado
  • Excellent organizational, facilitation, and coordination skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fair understanding of Enterprise, Data, Corporate IT, and Technology Operations teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.

In consideration of any disclosure of certain nonpublic or confidential information, you hereby enter into this Nondisclosure Agreement (the “Agreement”) and agree as follows:

  1. Confidential Information. In connection with a potential business relationship or other business purposes, Rubrik, Inc. (the “Company”) has granted you (the individual or entity named below) access, or may grant you access, to business, technical or other nonpublic information, materials and/or ideas (“Confidential Information,” which term shall include, without limitation, anything you learn or discover as a result of exposure to or analysis of any Confidential Information).
  2. Obligations. You will hold in confidence and will not possess or use (except as required to evaluate the proposed business relationship) or disclose any Confidential Information except information you can document which (i) is in the public domain through no fault of yours, (ii) was properly known to you, without restriction, prior to disclosure by Company or (iii) was properly disclosed to you by another person without restriction. You will not reverse engineer or attempt to derive the composition or underlying information, structure or ideas of any Confidential Information.  You will not export, re-export, resell, ship or divert or cause to be exported, re-exported, resold, shipped or diverted, directly or indirectly, any Confidential Information or product thereof.  You will promptly notify Company of any unauthorized release, disclosure or use of Confidential   You will strictly abide by any and all instructions and restrictions provided by Company from time to time with respect to Confidential Information or Company systems.   6. Disclaimer. Confidential Information is provided to you “as is” and the Company makes no warranties with respect to the Confidential Information or any materials provided by the Company.  In no event will the Company be liable for the accuracy or completeness of the Confidential Information.  You understand that nothing herein (i) requires the disclosure of any Confidential Information of the Company or (ii) requires the Company to proceed with any transaction or relationship.  You understand that this Agreement does not obligate the Company to disclose any information or negotiate or enter into any agreement or relationship.
  7. Miscellaneous.  The terms of this Agreement will remain in effect with respect to any particular Confidential Information until you can document that such Confidential Information falls into one of the exceptions stated in Section 2 above.  You acknowledge and agree that due to the unique nature of the Confidential Information, any breach of this Agreement would cause irreparable harm to Company for which damages are not an adequate remedy, and that Company shall therefore be entitled to equitable relief in addition to all other remedies available at law.  This Agreement is personal to you, nonassignable by you, governed by the internal laws of the State of California and may be modified or waived only in writing signed by both parties.  If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, such provision will be limited or deleted to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining terms remain in full force and effect.  The prevailing party in any dispute or legal action regarding the subject matter of this Agreement shall be entitled to recover attorneys’ fees and costs.
